Taebaek Winter Festival
The Taebaeksan Snow Festival, which began in 1994, is a representative winter festival in Taebaek, which has been famous for its abundant resources and beautiful natural scenery. Every year, it exhibits snow sculptures with a new theme, providing newness and enjoyment to tourists who visit, and it also holds climbing competitions that tourists can participate in, taking advantage of Taebaeksan, which is famous for its beautiful snow scenery, and runs programs that citizens can participate in.

A winter wonderland adventure on Nami Island!
Chuncheon's representative winter festival, "2025 Winter Wonder Nami Island," will be held from December. Held since 2018, Winter Wonder, now in its 6th year, offers a variety of things to see, eat, and enjoy with snow as the theme. From the sledding hill that anyone visiting Nami Island can use for free to the winter street food zone where you can enjoy a variety of winter snacks, to photo zones and various events located throughout the island, you can enjoy a variety of rich programs.
Daegwallyeong Snow Festival
Representative winter festival of Korea, Snow Flower Tour with Nundongi
30 years ago, many young people from Daegwallyeong, the center of winter in Korea, came together to create the Snow Flower Festival. The ‘Daegwallyeong Snow Flower Festival’, which began in 1993, is the first winter festival in the country and boasts a history of over 30 years. It is held every year with the goal of overcoming the winter off-season, revitalizing the local economy, and uniting residents, and has developed into a festival that many tourists visit. This year’s festival, which is themed [Enjoying Snow Flower Tour with Nundongi], is composed of the theme of enjoying winter in Pyeongchang-gun with ‘Nundongi’, the mascot of Pyeongchang-gun. You can experience the best winter fun at the ‘2025 Daegwallyeong Snow Flower Festival’, which has greatly expanded the snow sculptures containing the nature of Pyeongchang, ice sculptures depicting the winter appearance of Daegwallyeong, and various experience events that children can enjoy.
Hongcheon River Gonggong Festival
The Hongcheon River Gonggong Festival is a winter festival held every winter in the Hongcheon River area of Hongcheon-eup, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. The 2025 festival is scheduled to be held from January 18 to February 1.
The Hongcheon River Gonggong Festival, featuring ginseng trout, is held in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do every January. You can experience ice fishing, which can be enjoyed by people of all ages, catching trout with your bare hands, and an indoor fishing spot for families where you can see and fish. This year, super ginseng trouts over 45cm long are also available. In addition, there are various things to eat and play, such as an indoor family experience center, a sledding hill, a thatched-roof house landscape where you can feel the charm of the countryside, a winter folk playground, and local restaurants.
